We use Immersive theatre techniques to create unique learning programmes. We use our own research processes and devising techniques to craft engaging and enriching learning programmes for institutions. This way, participants get an experiential understanding of the chosen areas of learning. One of our first programmes is based on Traditional Indian Games. Based on our research and understanding of Traditional games, coupled with our performance capabilities, we have devised a learning programme that will help participants enjoy the world of traditional Indian games. We have conducted game based theatre workshops in India as well as in Universities in Doha and London.

Traditional Indian Games through theatre - a learning programme
About the programme The concept of play is embedded within human nature. From a game of dice that relies on chance to a game of Chaturanga (chess) that requires thought and skill to a game of kabaddi that relies of physical agility, traditional games push participants to think, strategise and win. From the Pandavas losing everything they possessed through a game of dice to Abhimanyu’s struggle in the Chakravyuha inspiring the game of kabaddi, traditional games have been an intrinsic part of culture, mythology and tradition. Today, as we are accelerating towards a digital world, can traditional games help us connect with one another? Can we discover our intrinsic behavioural patterns through games? This workshop on Traditional Indian games will enable participants to develop an understanding of the stories behind traditional games and learn to play some of these games as well – through theatre & storytelling techniques. Structure and process The workshop objective is to create an exciting environment of learning through doing. Based on stories anecdotes and narratives of the games, participants will be guided to develop small performance sketches. Using the objects of Traditional Indian Games - Metallic Dice, Glass Marbles, Shells, Tamarind seeds, stones and sticks Every object used in Traditional Indian games have unique textures, sounds and applications. Games have always relied on using naturally available material, from sticks, to shells to stones and pieces of metal. Through the workshop, we will explore the potential of these objects to create a performance environment. Participants will get a hands on touch and feel of these objects and then use them in creative ways to support performance. Using board game patterns to create performance |
